Also aren't the alpaca's ears pointy while the llama's ears are round?

HI Nella,
  A llama is about twice the size of an alpaca and alot more agressive.
Some people use them for gard animals, for alpacas and sheep or goats.
Their fleece is also not a desireable as an alpacas.
  Alpacas weigh from 150-200 lbs, are much more gentle, about 1/2 the size
and eat alot less. The fleece is very desireable. Easier to care for.
After being with alpacas, llamas now seem so big.  But llamas can pull or
carry packs and go hiking with you as pack animals. So that's good about
them.
