Sorry everyone I think I sent several empty messages to the list today.  I was trying to do everything through web mail and obviously didn't know what I was doing!  So, now I'm home and can access my messages as usual.

Jody, you bring up some good points about clicker training, points I never thought of.  I've read a lot about clicker training and even took one of my dogs to an obedience class that used clickers.  I found that I just wasn't coordinated enough to hold a dog on a leash, a cane and a clicker!  The dog I took is kind of a special ed guy and never quite got it any way!

If anyone is interested there is a lot of information out there on clicker training and I've met trainers who think it is the only way.  I have found that a combination of techniques works best for the dogs and horses that I've worked with.  Animals like people are all different and they all learn differently.
