I used to have a rescue GSD named Maya who hated going out in the rain, but 
she was happy to jump into a lake or stream!  She had this really prissy 
walk if her feet got wet.

I had to have her put down last summer at age 12 or 13.  We were not sure of 
her exact age.  She was completely bonded to me and liked very few other 
people.  I got her from a rescue group when she was 2 or 3 and had her for 
10 years.
