Wow. thanks for the info on the shepherds.  I still have my sight but when I found out I had glaucoma I asked my doctor if I could get a germen shepherd guide dog. He told me that it could be a very long time before I will need one.  darn, that is the only way I will get one.   I have always wanted a sheperd and I thought that this was the only way I will be able to have one.

Silly dog! 

My dog was raised near Seattle, and doesn't mind walking in rain.  If   
he can avoid a puddle, he'll do what he can -- even if that means   
guiding me into it. 
He enjoys body surfing.  I live about a block from the beach.
