You can plant very small seeds by mixing them in a can of sand, pour the
sand mixture into your marked row. Be sure to shake up the sand and seeds.
It really works. I have done this several times, lettuce, carrots etc.

Hello Shreyas,

Yes, blind people can do gardening. You have to come up with ways to do
things without using your eyes. In planting a garden I put two sticks in
the ground at each end of the row and I tie a string on the sticks to make a
straight line. I hill the row so it is higher then the ground on each side
and I plant the seeds using my fingers to measure the depth and distance
between them.

You can feel the little plants and pick the weeds out from the plants
because they feel different.

By planning ahead and doing each step carefully you can grow a garden very
well.

I am sure everyone can give you lots of ideas on how to do things without
seeing.

JODY
