A pickup is a ute:  short for utility.
Now here's an expression with which you might like to hit your american friends:  "rattle your 
dags!"  means get a wriggle on, get your a into g [trans get your arse into gear!" etc etc, or if 
you require further translation:  "hurry up!".
Now for clarification.  sheep, will, when woolly and if their droppings are a  little on the loose 
side, get said droppings stuck to the wool on their backsides.  These stuck on hunks of sheep shit 
are called * dags, and if a sheep is really daggy, they can, actually, rattle when dry and the sheep 
is running!

Now you have to give the translation for chooks for all the non Kiwis.  A
chooks is a chicken.

I just love all the New Zealand expressions.  Jewel, please remind me of
what a pick up truck is called in NZ?
