[Ag-eq] Chicken Killer

Jody,

It was hard putting Beau down, but he was so ready to go.  I think he was 
hanging around because Lucy needed him and she was so bad off with an 
infection that just wouldn't clear up.  I am surprised she hadn't just laid 
down and not gotten back up.

We believe the chicken killer is a red fox.  The end of that week, Matt 
called me on his way to work that night and said he saw a red fox crossing 
the driveway and running into the hedge.  We haven't decided what to do yet 
because we can't set out traps because of the dog and cats and a live trap 
would just be catching way too many things other than a fox.  Several people 
have already said that they want it if we shoot it so they can tan the pelt. 
My hounds must not have been up at the house when Mr. Fox decided to pick up 
dinner.  I have a feeling we may have a fox den somewhere close.
