Goats are also used for kudzu control.
On one of the goatkeepers' lists I belonged to years ago, we had a subscriber who had one of these 
contracts.
He would load his herd into a stripped down bus each morning, take them to the Kudzu 
infestation and pick them up again at night.
We also had a member who had a contract with the Fish and Game department to pack in, by goatback, 
supplies to very difficult to reach cabins.

Tracy:

Goats are very good at cleaning up brush and weeds.  Arizona has been keeping
some in forested areas to keep the undergrowth down.  Clearing the undergrowth
helps cut down on forest fires.  The state has been leasing hundreds of goats
from the navajo nation for this project.  They also hire some of the Navajo
people and dogs to herd the goats around.  So far the project has been very
successful.

Maybe I should try and hire the girls out!
