They can also be hired for Kudzu control, and I knew of one joker who had a string of pack goats and 
who worked for Fish and game, packing supplies to remote cabins and hunting sites.

I've heard of people doing that with goats.  In Arizona they were used in the
Prescott forest to eat undergrowth.  This was to help cut down on forest fires.
 The goats and goat herders were hired from the Navajo nation.  I believe about
500 goats were used.  I think they are doing it almost every summer.
