I thought that a chestnut, usually, had a black mane and tail.

Subject: [Ag-eq] Horse colors

I've recently learned what some horse colors mean in ordinary terms, and
thought other might be interested.

A bay horse is brown. A dark bay is dark brown to almost black.
A chestnut is reddish-orange. Usually the mane and tail are the same color
as the body.
A sorrel is a chestnut with a lighter mane and tail. Sounds lovely.
