[Ag-eq] Seeds!

Every weed seed that falls to the ground on the BlanchRanch germinates, but I have the greatest
difficulty in persuading seeds of domesticated plants to follow their wild cousin's example, even
though I look after them like a loving parent.
I bought some stock and dyanthus seedlings from our local hardware and garden shop and, you will
scarcely believe this, where I planted them, there is now a forest of potato plants but not a stock
or a dyanthus, and I swear in all that's wonderful that I never planted a single potato there nor
have there ever been potatoes in that plot!

Subject: [Ag-eq] Seeds!
I just ordered my spring seeds! (Messing about, instead of working.)
I got a couple "heirloom marriage" tomatoes-a cross of 2 heirloom varieties
that's supposed to give bigger yields and better disease resistance. Both
the crosses I chose are with Brandywine, which is delicious, but tends to
have disease problems in my garden. We'll see.
I also got red kale, and a purple kohlrabi. I've never grown kohlrabi, but
it sounds interesting. I think it's like a big turnip, and they do well for
me.
I also got some pansies, to jazz up my spring and fall garden. I got big
orange marigolds, which I love, and red petunias, which I also love, but
haven't yet been successful growing from seed. But I'll try again.
Now I better get back to work.
