[Ag-eq] Snakes

I have no idea what I could have been reading: must have been about snakes: anyway, the author said
that rattlesnakes are the gentlemen of the snake set as they always warn anything nearby of its
presence, so that that *anything had the option of leaving or staying and taking its chance.

Tracy:

I personally just don't worry about it. Arkansas actually has all 4 types
of poisonous snakes found in north America. I do try to remember to wear
gloves when moving rocks, boards or anything that has been laying on the
ground for a while. Snakes, spiders and other critters like to hide under
those kind of things.

When I was akid on the farm we had more than one dog get bitten by a
copperhead. They got sick, but didn't die. I weigh significantly more than
those dogs, so bet I would live through the experience.

While living in AZ I was stung by a scorpion, it hurt, but I didn't get
sick. I don't care to repeat the experience, but also know that it is
nothing to really worry about.

I'm sure I'm much more likely to get ran over by one of the crazy drivers
than I am to get bitten by a snake.

My sister is moving back to the old homestead. I'm rather jealous.

She's always worrying about snakes out there. There are definitely
rattlesnakes around. I was wondering how blind people who garden and farm
where there are venomous snakes around manage? I know there are copperheads
in Arkansas, for instance. And those rascals don't even rattle to warn you.
Do you just not worry about it? Or are there methods?

Tracy
