Well, Matt narrowed his list down to 3, leaning mostly to the Britny
Spaniel. The main thing is that the males are between 30 and 40
pounds and the females are 20 to 30 pounds. Short haired with
feathering on back of legs with a short or stubby tail. Also, there
are 6 AKC breeders in Virginia.

The absolute must that has to be checked with the breeder is they have
to be screened for the blood dis order of hemophilia. Males suffer
from it more, but females can be carriers.

One thing that was stressed while watching the dog show was the
misconception that buying a mixed breed like those crossed with
poodles, does not filter out health problems in the other breeds. All
it does is increase the chance of disorders because now you have added
the possibilities of problems that the poodles are known for.
