[Ag-eq] Westminster Dog Show

I've never purchased a pure breed dog and probably never will since there
are thousands of nice dogs on death row.  However I've had friends purchase
from breeders and you do have to be careful when selecting one.  Some of the
breeders who primarily focus on showing are rather careless when it comes to
the temperament of the animal.  Breed shows are really nothing but beauty
pageants for dogs. However, there are people who breed and show for agility
and such.

  It's always fun to learn about and meet different dog breeds.

Well, the one negative aspect Matt was really weighing carefully for the
collie and airdale was their high level of necessary activity.
Mainly because he will in about two weeks be working 12 hour days, changing
from 12 hour nights and where would he have time during his work week.  Matt
also was really thinking about the agility training and we certainly have
space for it and he can work on the sections one at a time for a daily
activity to keep them moving and thinking.  He's still leaning more towards
the britany spaniel.  The average cost according to AKC records is around
$600 and can go as high as $32,000 which I am sure that is extremely high
show quality or even pups that have been sired from dogs that had better won
Westminster grand champion.  lol
