[AG-EQ] [Ag-eq] Challenge

Hi Zac. Welcome to Jersey! The NJ NFB affiliate is an active bunch, and
the chapter near Newark is a happening bunch, or so I understand.

Elizabeth is not my favorite place. It's near the refineries and chemical
plants that have given Jersey a bad name. I hope you can find a place that
doesn't smell too bad. Almost all of the rest of the state is really nice.

Public transit is good, if you pick the right place. Be sure to find out
about nearby buses and trains before you sign a lease or whatever. There's
also paratransit, which is called Access Link. Its stops have to be within
a mile of a bus or train stop. I don't use it myself, but a lot of people
do. And Uber and Lyft are ubiquitous.
>From Elizabeth, it's easy to get into Manhattan, or go down the shore. It's
pretty central.
What else do you want to know about? I really like living in Jersey. Most
of it is not as crazy and noisy as New York, but the transit options are
still good, if you give them some thought. And, at least where I am, the
walking options are also good. The thing people complain about most is the
high cost of housing.
What will you be doing here in the Garden State?
Tracy

Hi Tracy,

I'm moving to Elizabeth on the 17th. If you have any advice or remarks you
can share with me regarding life in Jersey, whether or not you live in my
area, I would love to hear them.

Thanks,

Zac

I'm a member of the NFBNJ Sports and Recreation Division. Our leader likes
to regularly challenge us to get out of a comfort zone and try something
new, or something we've always wanted to do but didn't.

For the latest challenge, I chose to try to have something from my garden as
part of a meal at least once a week. Often, I just nibble out in the
garden, and it never makes it inside.

I'm doing well, so far. I've picked enough greens for my husband and me to
have some salad twice last week, and I cooked some dried beans that have
been waiting for me since fall.

I'm real excited about this challenge. I want to be able to feed us some
with stuff I've grown, instead of just messing about.

The apple tree is covered in blossoms this year. Once those guys roll in,
the challenge will be to think of 60 things to do with fresh apples.

Tracy
