Tracey!  Just think of the pleasure that you have given to one critter and you will turn your 
frustration into one of immeasurable joy!!!
Or, on the other hand, on your, carefully, monitored strolls around the neighbourhood, you could 
keep  your eyes open for any new full-grown marrigolds that have, miraculously appeared in , 
previously, barren gardens!!!

This weekend, I planted out some marigold seedlings I'd raised.  They were
just about to flower.  I checked them last night, and some critter had
disappeared them.  Critters aren't supposed to like marigolds, but I guess
no one told the critters around here.  I raise up a beautiful flower, and it
gets clobbered by some varmint!  I know, I'm always complaining about the
same thing, but it is annoying.
