If the horse is used to having his hooves cleaned and once you're
comfortable with it, it's a very easy task.

I like to use a pick with a very short handle; I feel like I have more
control of it that way.

I also have a wire brush that I use after the pick.

I got the hang of cleaning the horse's hooves now. It is easier for me, when
Moon, the pony lifts his leg, after I slide my hand down his leg, grab onto
the back, put my elbow on the inside of his leg and apply some pressure and
then he lifts his leg up... So then I keep my hand on it to keep track of
it. I no longer let go like I was doing before. This lets me pick it up on
the first try most times.
