[Arizona-students] Student Seminar in Washington D.C.

Dear Arizona Students,

Below is an announcement about the NFB's Washington Seminar.  This is
connected with the National Association of Blind Students' seminar, AKA the 
NFB's student division national conference.  The NABS seminar takes place on 
Sunday, Jan 30, in Washington D.C.  This consists of
a day-long event where you can hear from a variety of speakers on many
student-related topics.  The student day will end with a nighttime
social/party that is usually a lot of fun.  If you attend, then I'd
recommend flying in on Saturday, Jan 29 because the NABS meeting starts at
around 9 in the morning.

During the rest of the week, the NFB does its legislative
activities.  This means that we'll be going to Capitol Hill to talk with our
congressmen and senators about issues relevant to blind people.  This is a
chance for you to truly make a difference in the world.

I recommend this D. C. experience to students of any age.  I attended my 
first Washington seminar when I
was 17, a senior in high school, and I've gone to every one since.

AABS and the NFBA's local chapters are doing fundraising and may have money
available to assist Arizona students with the Washington trip.  I'd
recommend contacting Bob Kresmer if you have financial questions.  He can
refer you to the appropriate sources.  His e-mail is bob.kresmer at gmail.com.
If you're going to attend the seminar, I suggest that folks share rooms.
This cuts down on hotel costs.  If you're looking for roommates you could
either call Bob or contact Arielle Silverman, NABS president, at
nabs.president at gmail.com.
