Hello Everyone,

There are a lot of opportunities  in the month of October to get out in 
the community. In order of calendar occurrence the functions are as
follows:

Saturday, October 15

The Foundation for Blind Children is having a White Cane walk.
Come Join Us!
2011 White Cane Awareness Walk
Come help us raise awareness of Arizona’s White Cane Law: Drivers must 
yield to pedestrians using a white cane, while supporting the Foundation 
for Blind Children! This year’s activities will include a raffle, face 
painting, a blind fold obstacle course and much more!

7:30am registration 8:00am walk begins
Where: CityScape 1 E. Washington St., Phoenix AZ 85004
Cost: FREE to walk! T-shirts available for purchase day of event

Wednesday, October 19

The West valley chapter is hosting a trip to the State Fair. Please RSVP 
to Marc Schmidt, president of the  West Vally Chapter. Call 602-758-0057.

we will meet at 4 p.m. outside the Mcdoul entrence. It is located at 
1826 W. Mcdoul rd. in Phoenix. Dial-A-Ride recognizes this as the front 
entrence.

Friday, October 21

The Arizona braille and Talking book Library is having their annual open 
house from  9 to 3 pm. Please come and support the people who help you 
get your braille meterials for the Braille Readers are leaders contest 
as well as many other entertaining and factual books through out the year.

That was a hint. :-)

please pick up a braille book and join the Braille Readers Are Leaders 
contest beginning on November 1. You can start signing up on October 1

Saturday, October 29

Finally, the Student Division is hosting a trip to the Tolmachoff Farms 
corn Maze.

Where:
Tolmachoff Farms
5726 N. 75th Ave
Glendale, AZ 85303

When: 5 p.m., Saturday, October 29.

RSVP to Kristen Johnson, President, Arizona Association of Blind 
Students. Call her at 720-299-8039.

We could go on the Saturday before Haloween and have fun in the Haunted 
Maze as well as participate in the other mazes or the rope climb or one 
of the other activities.

Welcome to Pumpkin Days & Fall Maze - October 1 – November 20, 2011
Make this fall season unforgettable, come on over to Tolmachoff Farms 
and experience the ultimate holiday outing where there is something for 
the whole family: 6 acre family corn maze with a new theme each year, 
(search for pieces of your map as you walk through), mini corn maze 
(perfect for little ones), petting zoo, train ride, hay pyramid, farm 
theme activities (corn grinder-grind corn to feed chickens), play area 
(corn box, adult/child pedal cart track) and much more.
PUMPKIN DAYS / FALL MAZE

October Hours:
Friday – Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
(last ticket sold 1 hour before closing)

Combo Tickets:	$18.00 – haunt and family maze

Monday, October 31

This is still in the works, but  some members of the student division 
might be going Tricker Canning. This is where people dress up in 
costumes and go around their neighborhood and collect cans of food for 
their local food bank for the needy.

Please let Kristen know if you wish to come to any of these events at 
least three days in advance  so that we can plan to meet you.
