Greek Visually Impaired Pupils Win International Award for Making
Tactile Map
Three Greek pupils with visual impairment won first prize in an
international map painting competition. The international competition is
titled the “Barbara Petchenik Competition” and the theme was “My place
in today’s world.”

Two-day national photo workshop for visually-impaired begins today
It was a shoot with a difference. A group of visually challenged
students had a day with the Camera at the University of Hyderabad.
The objective help the students try to translate mental images into
reality while taking pictures. Well known author Partho Bhowmick (author
of See As No Other & In Touch) was the resource person.
The two-day national workshop on 'Blind with Camera' began today with
the Empowered Committee for Differently Abled Persons (ECDAP) in
collaboration with Universities with Potential for Excellence (UPE)
Phase-II at the College for Integrated Studies of the University.

Bowen has overseen creation of new technologies, programs
We have funded some outstanding programs with role models for the blind
that help us make our community a better place to live for a blind or
visually impaired citizen," said Bowen, who sits on the board of the
Huntington Museum of Art, which has a current exhibit entitled "Sight
Unseen" featuring photography by visually impaired artists.
