Hi Ann,
My thanks for the eXCITING updates! So much GOOD to hear about, which is always so welcome.

Today is the final day of the Vision and Revision exhibition at the first gallery. Then, on Saturday, it gets delivered to the second and final destination. It opens at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA on April 17 and is there till July 5. That is the end of the project.

Now, I will be putting my creative efforts into developing a new body of work for my own one person exhibition, Journey of a Thread, for the next year or two - I will be creating mixed media fiber works for this show. I am using for my inspiration, myths and stories of thread, ribbons, cords as metaphors in literature - from ancient times to the present. I have a lot of research to do, lots of things to read, and digest to create the work that will grow out of my reading and research. Literature is rich in imagery that I can translate into my own work.

Best to you and thanks for keeping me in the loop of good information.

  Hooray! a birding book!
Do you have the Bard Owl who says,"Who cooks for you?" or the wood thrush who says "where are you? Here I am."

doesn't matter -anything will be fun!

    Good morning,
I am forwarding a conversation started on Art Beyond Sight Museums list, also hosted on NFB's site.
    artbeyondsightmuseums at nfbnet.org
I thought you guys might find it interesting and have something to add.

I am hard at work on my Backyard Birder, it is a book featuring ten noisy urban and rural birds common throughout North America. I will be posting some updates on my progress on my blog too. http://www.SensationalBooks.com/blog
It will have full color pictures and it will be fully embossed. If you scroll to the bottom of the blog page there is a "Follow" button which will send a notice when a new post is up.

Today I am going to post an essay by our own Deborah Kent Stein. It is an inspiring piece and reminds me that what we do is important. Thanks for that, Debbie!

Congratulations to Lynda on all her success with her exhibit. I am sure it will continue to send ripples throughout the art world.

      Hello,

My name is Elin Meliska and I am developing a self-guided touch tour for blind and low vision visitors at the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum. I'm totally new at this and was hoping some seasoned pros could offer some help.

      * Does anyone have experience writing visual descriptions of objects? Or do most museums contract this out?

      * Do any other museums offer a self-guided touch tour? If so, what are some of the challenges or strengths you have encountered?

      * How do you advertise your programs and what community relationships have you found successful?

Thank you so much for your help. Any and all advice is much appreciated!

      Elin
