artist, I had to fighure out how to move forward. I decided that I would write a 
blog and address sight loss issues for visually impaired people like me, and to 
enlighten other people who know nothing about sight loss. It was therapeudic for 
me to do this and helped me to deal with my own situation.  It has helped 
me to verbalize what I was experiencing. It also helped me to find resources and 
learn more about sight loss. It was a whole new world for me. It is a very 
interesting world, really. </FONT></DIV>

and museum/gallery centered.  Before my teaching career, I was the director 
of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in Pennsylvania. Most of my career has been 
promoting artists, displaying art in exchibitions, and making and exhibiting m

        procedure, but HPS (the type of albinism that causes my vision problems, 
        as well as all sorts of other party "gifts") affects blood clotting so 
        it's been crazy getting everything planned in case something goes wrong.

        <DIV><FONT size=5>I used to actually work in the trade show business. I 
        was an editor of an international magazine for people who plan large 
        trade shows. In 2008, however, my health problems were becoming more 
        frequent and time consuming, so I had to quit working. Now, I work 
        part-time, and volunteer full time, for the HPS Network. It's so great 
        to have found something that is flexible and can work around my medical 
        issues. The show in Miami is for GI docs. HPS causes Crohn's disease, as 
        well as vision and bleeding problems (and other stuff.) </FONT></DIV>

                              never listed anything for sale, but I have just 
                              put together Treasuries in the past couple of 
                              weeks, and I figured out how to begin networking 
                              with others and have a circle started.  Right 
                              now, I am putting other people's things up on my 
                              facebook page to help them get noticed in my own 
                              facebook community. I enjoy helping other artists. 
                              I suppose in the future I will probably be putting 
                              my own work up for sale, but not for

                              some high end Christmas markets in November - they 
                              are juried and by invitation and get a good buying

                              and sell it that way. I did a solo exhibition at a 
                              museum in Sept/October and it was the highest 
                              visitors and sales the museum has had in the past 
                              25 years, I was told by the director. So, for now, 
                              it s working for me the way I do it but I think 
                              Etsy might be a nice thing to do too.

                                on it, but I'm not sure about all the ways to

                                been hugely profitable, but I also haven't given 
                                it the attention and promotion it needs, so I

                                places like Ebay are a good market. State and 
                                local fairs are another great way to either show 
                                off your work or sell it down the road. Art 
                                festables are a great place to show off your 
                                work so that you can get a sense of how it will 
                                do in the market. They are just some ideas that 
                                I got since I worked in the Oregon State Fair 
                                and heard about the internet and got a rag rug 
                                displayed in a place that normally shows off art 
                                instead of crafts this year. I hope that they
