<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am not really sure what tactile art actually
is. Everything that we can touch is tactile, isn't it? Or is there
something more to it? I am not sure what this term really means.
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Will our work be insured during the
display?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Are you trying to come up with some sort of mission
statement here, or are you just brainstorming? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am interested in being supportive to artists who
are blind regardless of the medium they work with, or the intention of the
communication and audience. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Some artists work with traditional "crafts"
materials, but the outcome is quite a different thing than what the crafter
would produce. In my mind, they would not mix well in a show. What do
others think about this? There are "crafts" and then
there is "Craft which is fine art." There IS an enormous
difference between the two. How can we not distinguish, when they are very
different things? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Just some of my initial thoughts on your
survey.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Morning, </DIV>
<DIV> A quick survey has revealed that: </DIV>
<DIV> four of us are interested in sending artwork
to exhibit.</DIV>
<DIV>Debbie, Lynda, Kendra, Ann </DIV>
<DIV> three of us have expressed interest in
conducting workshops</DIV>
<DIV>Kendra, Zunaira, Ann</DIV>
<DIV> two of us have indicated that the artwork
they create is not tactually accessible</DIV>
<DIV>Patty, Heather</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>So the questions this raises are:</DIV>
<DIV> 1. Is our mission to promote/support artists who are blind
and/or tactile art and/or accessible art for people who are blind? The answer
to this would influence the kind of work we would display. Right?</DIV>
<DIV> 2. Are we distinguishing between art and craft? How do we
distinguish that if we are? </DIV>
<DIV> 3. What workshop do we think we want to do and how long?
When do you arrive? I will be arriving Friday the 29th to be there Seminar
Day. I would be interested in exhibiting whatever we have and conducting a
drop in workshop for all ages using the Sensational Black Board and home made
clay.</DIV>
<DIV> 4. The Krafters Division is going to be holding events too.
Do we want to coordinate with them? Ideas.</DIV>
<DIV> 5. I hope my numbers from the survey are out of date and
that more people will be thinking of participating. Anyone else? </DIV>
<DIV> 6. What else do we want to consider? </DIV>
