Zoox is now welcoming its first public riders in San Francisco

We're excited to announce that our Zoox Explorers program is officially
live in San Francisco, and we're inviting members of the public off our
waitlist to be among the first to ride.

Our San Francisco waitlist is live, and members of the public can now ride

Our Explorers program is an early rider initiative that invites people to
ride for free and share valuable feedback to help us refine the experience
before we scale. This is an important moment for people to learn about Zoox
as we prepare to grow our service area in San Francisco. To sign up for the
waitlist, download the Zoox app from the iOS or Android App Store.

“Zoox has been testing our autonomous technology in San Francisco since
2017,” said Aicha Evans, CEO. “It's our home. A city of innovation and
progress, with an amazing mobility ecosystem that we feel Zoox can really
complement. We have seen incredible interest in Zoox in this market and are
excited about this first step to bring our purpose-built robotaxi
experience to more people.”

Download the Zoox app and join our waitlist to be among the first to ride
Zoox Explorers will be able to ride anywhere within our service area, which
includes the majority of the SoMa, Mission, and Design District
neighborhoods. This is a point-to-point service, and riders can select a
destination from suggested points of interest, enter a street address, or
drop a pin at their destination within the service area.

Zoox will drop riders off near their destination and will also provide
walking directions if needed to get you door-to-door. Rides in San
Francisco are free to start, giving people the chance to experience this
world first, first.


In September, Zoox launched our autonomous ride-hailing service in Las
Vegas, enabling riders to travel to/from select destinations on and around
the Strip. We will continue adding new destinations throughout the coming
months.

If you are on the waitlist, stay tuned! You will receive an update once
it’s your turn to ride. Riders will be let off the waitlist pending
criteria such as location and the introduction of additional robotaxis to
the fleet.

Keeping local businesses and our neighbors in mind
Zoox is excited to work with small businesses in our community, like
Tartine Manufactory, helping to bring riders to popular destinations, while
also giving Tartine employees the opportunity to be among our first riders.
This is Zoox's first local business partner, and we look forward to
partnering with more businesses to connect our riders with more Bay Area
favorites that make our community special.

San Francisco is one of the leading cities for innovation
The San Francisco Bay Area, where Zoox was founded, is an exciting and
vibrant place, making it the perfect spot for our next service launch. The
neighborhoods of SoMa, Mission, and the Design District are bustling with
life and filled with wonderful restaurants, lively bars, cozy coffee shops,
gyms, homes, and offices.

Since 2017, our test fleet has autonomously navigated the streets of San
Francisco with a safety driver. The Zoox robotaxi began testing in SoMa and
the Design District area in November 2024. We also have multiple offices
and vehicle depots around the city to support our operations.

We’re looking forward to offering riders a unique experience for everyone
who lives, works, or just enjoys their time here. Our service areas will
continue to grow in the months ahead, opening up more destinations for
riders to explore.


Over a decade in the making
Since our founding, Zoox has taken a different approach to solving
autonomy. Our focus went beyond developing a retrofitted autonomous vehicle
to reimagining mobility by creating a purpose-built robotaxi that provides
a better way to ride.
