A  Waymo driverless vehicle was involved in a fiery collision on *Sunday
evening, July 26, 2026*, in Atlanta.
Incident Details

   -

   *Location:* Cheshire Bridge Road NE at Manchester Street NE (in the
   Morningside-Lenox Park area).
   -

   *Cause:* The unoccupied Waymo autonomous vehicle was stopped in a turn
   lane waiting to turn left onto Manchester Street when it was rear-ended by
   another driver traveling at roughly 33 mph.
   -

   *The Fire:* The striking vehicle caught fire upon impact, which then
   spread to and ignited the rear of the Waymo car.
   -

   *Injuries:* There were no passengers inside the Waymo. Atlanta Fire
   Rescue evaluated two individuals from the other vehicle at the scene, both
   of whom declined hospital transport.
