Good afternoon everyone,

This is very awesome news. Not only are we getting Waymo back in action in
San Antonio but Tesla is on the way too. Let's see who is the first to begin
service in Stone Oak and the Medina Base Area where we and one of the best
cleaning ladies and all-around friend in San Antonio live. We'll also be
curious to see which autonomous vehicle service begins using Texas freeways.
Will San Antonio be the first place where this happens? Here is the direct
link and a Gemini summary:

Here is a summary of the article from the San Antonio Report regarding
driverless vehicle services expanding in San Antonio:

Tesla Robotaxis Approaching San Antonio Entry

*	Zoning Approval: On July 21, San Antonio's Zoning Commission voted
8-2 to approve a zoning change allowing Tesla to operate a charging station
and parking facility on Josephine Street in Tobin Hill, near the Pearl and
Nathaniel Hawthorne Academy.
*	Site Details: The lot was originally slated for a 900-unit mixed-use
apartment building, but high development costs led the landowner to lease
the site to Tesla. The facility chose this location due to its electrical
infrastructure capacity, and it will feature full-time on-site staff to
manage and charge the fleet.
*	Commission Debate: City staff originally recommended denying the
zoning request to protect the walkable, high-density goals of the
neighborhood. However, the majority of commissioners approved it, citing the
potential to reduce overall vehicle miles traveled and offer alternative
transit options.

Waymo Prepares to Resume and Upgrade Services

*	Service Resumption: Waymo had temporarily suspended passenger
service in San Antonio following a flash flood incident that carried away a
vehicle and highlighted software handling issues in high-water conditions.
The company stated it expects to resume operations soon and will open access
to all riders across the city.
*	New Fleet Addition: Alongside its standard Jaguar I-PACE vehicles,
Waymo is testing a new, roomier autonomous vehicle called the Ojai,
featuring a larger battery capacity, faster charging, and easier-to-clean
interiors.
