Good evening everyone,

Following upon Corn's message concerning Uber rolling out its autonomous
rideshare service I jumped on Gemini and generated the report below:

Date: February 28, 2026

Subject: The Future of Mobility: Uber's Autonomous Rideshare Expansion

As part of our mission to reimagine the way the world moves for the better,
Uber is rapidly expanding its autonomous vehicle (AV) capabilities. We are
moving beyond traditional ridesharing to a hybrid network where human
drivers and autonomous technology work together seamlessly. Below is a
detailed look at our current status and future roadmap for autonomous
ridesharing.

  _____

1. When will Uber begin deploying its autonomous rideshare option?

Uber has already begun deploying autonomous rideshare services in several
key markets. As of early 2025, fully autonomous trips (without a human
safety driver) became available to the public in cities like Phoenix,
Atlanta, and Austin through our partnership with Waymo. In February 2026, we
launched Uber Autonomous Solutions, a new suite of services designed to
accelerate the deployment of third-party autonomous fleets on our platform
globally. We expect to facilitate over 1 million driverless trips by the end
of 2026.

2. What types of Uber vehicles will be available?

Uber utilizes a diverse fleet through various partnerships to provide riders
with multiple options:

*	Jaguar I-PACE: Currently used in our partnership with Waymo for
premium, all-electric autonomous rides.
*	Nuro-Lucid-Uber Robotaxi: Launching later in 2026, this co-developed
vehicle features a custom "AV-first" interface, including in-car tablets for
climate and entertainment control.
*	Volkswagen ID. Buzz: A shared autonomous vehicle (AV) product
launching in Los Angeles later this year.
*	Other Platforms: We are also integrating technology from partners
like Cruise, Avride, and Wayve to offer a range of vehicle types from
standard sedans to specialized delivery bots.

3. When will Uber begin its non-partnership (in-house) autonomous service?

While Uber's current strategy is "asset-light"-meaning we primarily partner
with AV technology companies-we have begun purchasing some vehicles directly
to speed up market entry. These "Uber-owned" AVs are being integrated into
the fleet throughout 2026 to help shape the category, though the vast
majority of the service continues to run via technology partners.

4. Initial Launch Cities and Countries

Uber is targeting 15 major markets for autonomous rides by the end of 2026.

*	United States: Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin,
Dallas, Houston, and Orlando.
*	International: London (UK), Zurich (Switzerland), Madrid (Spain),
Munich (Germany), Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh (Middle East).
*	Asia: Hong Kong is slated to be Uber's first robotaxi market in Asia
later this year.

5. Service Areas: Downtown vs. City-Wide

Initially, autonomous rides are rolled out in specific Operational Design
Domains (ODDs). This usually begins in high-traffic, well-mapped areas such
as downtown cores, airports, and major stadiums (e.g., Q2 Stadium in
Austin). As the technology learns and mapping data improves, the service
area expands to cover more suburban and residential neighborhoods.

11. Autonomous Rides in San Antonio, Texas

As of February 24, 2026, autonomous rides have officially begun picking up
passengers in San Antonio. While these rides are currently facilitated
through the Waymo app, Uber is in the process of integrating these San
Antonio fleets into the Uber app, similar to our existing integrations in
Austin and Atlanta. Residents can expect to see the "Autonomous" option
appear in their Uber app as the rollout scales locally.

12. Passenger Pricing and Fees

Uber's goal is to keep autonomous rides comparable to or more affordable
than traditional Uber services.

*	Standard Pricing: Autonomous trips currently follow Uber's Upfront
Pricing model, based on time, distance, and current demand.
*	Discounts: In some markets, riders may see lower prices for
autonomous options as we seek to encourage adoption.
*	No Tips: Because there is no human driver, passengers are not
expected to tip for fully autonomous rides.

13. How to Get Notified of Availability

You can find out if autonomous rides are coming to your area directly
through the app:

1.	Open the Uber App and tap Account.
2.	Go to Settings and scroll to Ride Preferences.
3.	Select Autonomous Vehicles.
4.	Tap Join Interest List.

Once you are on the list, Uber will notify you via email or push
notification as soon as autonomous vehicles are available in your specific
location.

  _____

Uber is committed to a future that is safer, more reliable, and more
sustainable. We look forward to seeing you in the backseat soon!

                Have a great weekend everyone.
