While Waymo made a goof we\u2019re glad no one was hurt. As mentioned improving the navigation models these companies use is an on-going work in progress or ARS, (Autonomous Ride Services\u201d will be paying lots of fines and even worse. Knowing Waymo they\u2019ll tweak the Waymo Driver so it will obey traffic laws including stopping for school busses and not make illegal U-turns.

May I suggest that the list also include discussion of ARS and the real-worldexperiences of blind persons that have used these services and how we can approach our city officials to urge them to bring ARS services to other cities including ours San Antonio. Waymo already operates in Austin with Dallas to follow next year. In November we\u2019ll be voting on two propositions concerning the funding of improvements to the east side of downtown San Antonio including the construction of a downtown arena for the San Antonio Spurs. This initiative is known as Project Marble. City officials have stated that to accommodate the increased pedestrian traffic in downtown San Antonio improvements to public transportation will be necessary. This should include additional transportation options such as autonomous rideshare. So far nothing has been said about ARS coming to the Alamo City but it would be wonderful to get the conversation going. Perhaps other subscribers are wondering the same thing so they can promote ARS coming to their communities as well.

These videos are great but they\u2019re only half of the equasion. Discussions concerning the use of ARS by blind individuals and sharing tips and tricks will be very much appreciated to prepare us for the day when we can experience ARS for ourselves.
