In Austin, they make you use the Uber app instead of the Waymo app. There are more Accessibility options and it\u2019s a better experience \u2013 learned from other Blind folks \u2013 when you get to use the Uber app. Some of the things you can do is you can turn on a setting that has you tell has the car tell you when it turns on a new street what street it\u2019s on. This helps to know if you\u2019re getting dropped off across the street from where you were desiring to get dropped off. That happened twice to me. The major things I think could be issues are Clinton\u2019s of the cars related to Service Dogs for example when I rode a friend with a dog rode with me. I got in first and the dog tried to jump for something that was on the floor below my feet. I was able to block the dog from getting it and indeed it was candy. So we all are gonna have to be more careful about that. I plan to take a small bath pad and put it down where my dogs front part and head would be. I felt safe during the ride, there is a way to call for a person to talk to. I have not gotten an answer from Waymo as to who requires the use of the Uber app in Austin. It appears that Waymo says Texas in Texas is WeMo. I also know that Robotaxi is starting in Austin and I\u2019m not in the test area yet but I\u2019m going to try it out. The first ride I do by myself I always go from a place that I know exactly what it\u2019s like in the area to a place where I know exactly what it\u2019s like in the area. I also try not to go on any big highways.
