[Blind-international-students] meeting minutes

Thank you Jan for sending out the minutes. I think  Hina you said in the last meeting that you also wanted me to also review the mission and goals of the organization. As I said at the end of the last meeting that American Association for People with Disabilities (AAPD) has a grant that we could apply for to do some kind of a project to help people with disabilities. I have been thinking a bit and I think what we can think about doing a international project and apply for this grant. We could work with Causes for 
Change (Zolly's organization) with a project she is working on in Central or South America and use this as our contribution to the work she is doing. This way we have a established organization and I think it will help us build credibility and help us in recruiting new members. It will demenstrate that we are serious and give members something to get involved in. As she informed us that she gets requests all the time for assistance with helping blind students and individuals and it is a big benefit for her to network with us since we have the connection and knowledge on how to assist other blind people. So lets think about this and if we are interested we really need to start applying for this grant. I believe the deadline is in January.

I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.
