Just a quick note about some upcoming shows.

Starting the week after this week's episode, we have a pair of shows that
feature three pioneers in the field of assistive technology in a friendly
and informative round table discussion. We'll be speaking with Deane Blazie
(founder of Blazie Engineering and developer of the first braille
notetakers), Jim Fruchterman (founder of Arkenstone and developer of OCR
products for the blind), and Ted Henter (founder of Henter-Joyce and
developer of the JAWS screen reader). Learn what these old colleagues and
friends are all up to now and about their thoughts on the current state of
access technology. These shows will air Sep. 27 and Oct. 4. Don't miss
these episodes and be sure to tell your friends!

Anyway, this week's episode is:

1739 Running with a Remote Aira Guide (Sep. 20, 2017)

Aira is a service developed to give the blind instant access to information
using a smart phone, a video camera, and a remote sighted agent. Hosts Nancy
and Peter Torpey talk with Erich Manser, a blind distance runner and
triathlete, and Jess Jakeway, a sighted distance runner who served as
Erich's remote guide using Aira at the 2017 Boston Marathon.

As usual the audio and show notes can be found at:
