Last month, we announced the launch of Touching The News<https://lighthouse-sf.org/2021/04/21/lighthouse-introduces-touching-the-news/>, a new and free service from LightHouse. This service allows people who are blind or have low vision to access visual elements of news and culture by allowing them to download a tactile graphic.

Every two weeks you can vote in a poll on which tactile graphic you’d like to enjoy next. The following week, we will send you a link to the files of the most voted on graphic so you can print it at home. You can either print on swell (capsule) paper, and raise the print by using a PIAF, Zychem or Swell Form machine. The tactile graphic can also be embossed on ViewPlus Columbia, ViewPlus Delta, APH PixBlaster, IRIE BrailleTrac, and IRIE BrailleSheet.

Now it’s time to vote on the very first Touching The News Graphic. Here are this first week’s choices...

The Tactile Graphic for next week should be:

  *   What does the Oscar statue look like?
  *   What was that secret code on the Perseverance Parachute?
  *   What does the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face (ROFL) emoji look like?
Voting is open now and closes on Monday, May 10 at 3:00 pm Pacific.
