What I have had problems accessing is the Dept Human Services paperwork.
They are driving me nuts with their small squares and various forms. I
participate in several of their programs and they don't SHARE intake information so
I might get two request for employee verification for husband's work in 2008.
You can not scan and use Open Book to fill the application out either.
They have no one that will help you either. They say you need to find a friend
or community volunteer to help you get this information back to us.

I think they should have special protocol with blind or those with cognitive
problems because it can be most confusing and frustrating. I have discussed
it with the local office and my congressman. I wonder how many people end
up not getting services because they can't jump through the hoops of getting
the application completed and the forms they are requesting back to them (they
often don't give more then ten days and its not ten business days they
request completion.)

They were not very friendly or supportive either. They said they have too
many applications to process.
I suggested they train some of us on the computers and let us do the intakes
via the computer for special need cases. I can type 76 wpm but I have to
have software program that actually can open the squares to type in the
information.

Can I file suit against them? Not for me..because I finally got it all
straightened out (but I can tell you I had a major meltdown and called my
caseworker for the DARS Blind Division) but for others that are missing the chance
for services. Anyone else have any problems?

Another question... has anyone had problem with the Math portion of the
state's college entrance exam when starting to attend college? Has any of you
successfully completed college level Algebra without knowing Braille? I am in
this situation now...not sure what to do and our local college has no
knowledge of what I need to complete the math requirement of my degree.
