[Blind-rollers] pharmacy

Rick's previous email about pharmacy accessibility at the NFB Convention,
reminds me of something I witnessed not long ago.

A lovely lady powered up to the lowered window at the pharmacy. The person
helping her bent down over her to talk about her medications. How rude, was
my first thought. How disrespectful. I was totally annoyed at the lack of
training of this, I assume pharmacist, since they were talking about how to
take a medication and interactions with other medications. How hard was it
for that pharmacist to pull up a chair and talk human being to human being.

So training on how to interact with their customers is number one. No
matter what the disability is.

I was probably ten feet from this freak show. I wanted to say something to
the pharmacist and I am sorry I didn't.
Sitting down would have allowed the sound separators to work to keep their
consultation private. Even if she had a hearing loss, many sighted lip
read. You can't lip read if someone is standing over you.
Becky and my joy wheels
