Carol, I too was told about this organization by my mobility specialist from
Lighthouse for Blind. She thought it would be good for me to see how others
met challenges that had vision loss and in a wheelchair. For awhile, we
were sharing lots of back and forth dialog which was helpful but suddenly it
stopped. Just networking asking what type of program you use for reading on
your computer can be helpful (I use jaws). I am seeking a career now that I can
work in a wheelchair and with the vision loss so hearing from people in
different careers is also good for me. I think Laura wrote before that this is
why this site was set up in the first place...to network. I also know it gets
info out about the conventions etc but to be truthful, I would love to lobby
but my loss of my career has caused economic hardship on my family. There
is NO way I could afford to go to conferences etc. So, at least I can read
about the conference and new equipment being presented at the conferences and
conventions.
Write me anytime. I will be glad to talk to you. deb

I am a bit confuse, I was told about Blind Rollers about nine months ago
and decided to join;
but I have not yet read, or learn anything that about technique and info
that would help a Blind person
that used a wheelchair and power chair. This population is still so not
recognized, even by NFB in the
quarterly Magazine there is nothing. Am I on the wrong site?
