Subject: [Blind-rollers] greetings all

I just wanted to say happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the rollers list. Our
list has been quiet except for occasional broadcast nfb announcements. I'm
hoping in the coming months we can think of useful topics and material for
this list and get more participation.

What are you all doing for the holidays?
I hope everyone has warm and pleasant plans for Thanksgiving. We (Mom and
I) are staying home and one of my brothers is coming from California to
visit the weekend. He is vegetarian and allergic to yeast (which is added
to a surprising number of foods) so we are working on the perfect menu for
Thanksgiving dinner that he can eat. If anyone on list is vegetarian and has
a good recipe, feel free to share.

Whatever holidays you celebrate in December, I hope it is a very happy
season for you and your families. Whether you travel or stay home, or even
work over the holidays, I hope all is done in safety.

I was thinking of a fun activity for December -- think of ways to decorate
your wheelchair.
Then, if you like you can go carolling with a group or visit a hospital or
someone who is alone. It's fun. But you probably already know that. I just
wanted to spark some discussion by asking for creative ideas for wheelchair
decor. As for my own thoughts, I was thinking of a wreath in each large
wheel, or tinsil in the spokes of the wheels, or something on the handles in
back.
And if you have leg rests attached, those are great for decoration too. (I
myself take the leg and foot rests off as they get in the way.)

Well, perhaps I'm grasping at straws -- but you get the idea.

Take care and enjoy the season!
Hugs
-- Laura
