This ruling and the reactions to it quoted in the article are vile 
beyond words. They show very clearly that while society has learned, if 
grudgingly, that discrimination on the basis of race, gender and even 
age are unacceptable, it is still perfectly all right to treat the 
disabled with disrespect and contempt. I feel great admiration for and 
gratitude to the courageous people who fight this dehumanizing prejudice.
