Hi, all,
I wanted to write and update on the turn out of the court case last Tuesday.
As the subject line says it all, it didn't end the way my DA Lisa Jones and I were hoping it to be.
It was decided at the last minute that the guy who attacked me wasn't the right person upon not enough evidence.
Basicly, he walked away scotch free while I'm left here to feel all the flashbacks from the beginning.
I found this out yesterday evening and now, I'm not sure if IO can trust anyone too much anymore.
I waited a year for this and this is how the outcome is given and a last minute decision as I called unexceptable.
Just last wednesday when Odie and I were out and about doing errands, I had someone have the nerve to approach me without identifying himself on top of telling me to give him my cane to help me.
I didn't fall through with that and backed away from him with my power wheelchair.
The guy still wouldn't back off and I found myself frozen with fear not to be able to say, leave me alone or anything else of the sort.
Odie clearly made himself known as he stood in front of my wheelchair, telling the space violator to back off and leave.
I was wanting to have a fresh start to put all of this behind me, and unfortunately, it's not happening.
I know CCDC is allied with NFBCO, but I can't afford to meet with their lawyer, Scott LaBarre.
He charges possible around $100.00.
Another organization I was thinking of contacting to see if they could help me find ways to recover after the incident is VDI (Violence Domesticated Initiative.
I really want to move on from this stuff, but am not sure or how.
If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.
I'm considering filing a complaint with the US department of Justice and if I can't get anywhere from there, then I'm considered to be no other than a failure.
*Sad*
