Well you have the manual for those times.  I use my manual or occasionally 
when I'm riding with someone.

Yikes, then I wouldn't be able to get to church. I ride with friends from
church in a car. Our paratransit doesn't run on Sundays. They quit at 6:00
in the evening, too, which is ridiculous!

Hi
In addition to using what Charlotte suggested I also use paratransit.  My
husband and I also have a wheelchair accessible van.  But you can't get them

in cars.

Hi. Power chairs are very heavy and can not be folded up. Greyhound has
buses with lifts that can lift them up, but unless your cab company has
vans with lifts you can't get a power chair into a cab. City buses also
have these lifts at least here where we live.
