Hi, Lauren:

That's why I suggested you contact an independent living center. It can
really help to have someone else in your corner. Good luck!

Hi,
The elevators here do meet ADA regulations. The numbers are even in braille
and it beeps on each floor. I am quite sure the size is ADA-compliant.

I am worried that it is going to be me versus the professionals and you know
how that sometimes goes.
Thanks,
Lauren

Oh, one more thing, Lauren. Are the elevators in your building sized as
they should be by ADA regulations? If you don't know, call an independent
living center to come measure. They may also be interested and able to help
you with advocacy regarding your chair dilemma.

If people are getting crowded into a corner on your elevator, it may need to
be checked to see that it meets ADA regulations. Good luck!
Blessings,
Susan

Hi,

I heard the home healthcare nurse talking to the physical therapist where
they thought I wouldn't hear them and the nurse said he was advocating for
me not to keep the power chair because it was dangerous. The physical
therapist said she agreed and would put it in her notes.

I guess I squeezed a guy into a corner in the elevator but I didn't touch or
hurt him.

I don't like using the power chair in the elevator, though, unless I am by
myself and even then, I don't like going through the elevator doors with
both of my hands busy. It just gives me the creeps.

I wonder if I ought to walk the chair in and out of the elevator? I don't
know if that would work very well either though.

I walked to lunch and then was totally worn out. I really cannot walk all
that far. My right hip was complaining.

Thanks,

Lauren
