[Blind-Rollers] I have carpet

Thanks for the information. I was thinking about the thick plastic that has
little teeth on the back for the floor. I can't move the chair on the
carpet. Today I got a walker with wheels, and it seems to work well for me.
Probably it is better than the wheelchair on the carpet. I'm worried about
recking my shoulder though using the walker. Maybe I'm using it wrong.

Hello and welcome to blind rollers. Personally it is hard to get air tires
any more because people are reluctant to give people chairs with them
because of the danger of a flat and I don't think it would make a lot of
difference. There plastic carpet covers they use like when they would show
houses but the weight of the chair still tends to sink and be somewhat
harder to wheel on carpet but a lot of it depends on the tcarpet thickness.
I've wheeled on the indoor/ourdoor carpeting without a problem and gotten
stuck on shag.

Subject: [Blind-Rollers] I have carpet
Good afternoon,
I just joined this list. I am 72 and have osteoporosis and ankylosing
spondylitis which means I break easily. I am trying to find ways to help
myself until I heal from a vertebra break and herniated disk. I want to use
a wheelchair in my house, but I have carpeting everywhere except my kitchen
and bathrooms. I have two questions.
Do nematic wheels roll better on carpeting than the hard rubber wheels?
Second, is there a material like heavy duty plastic carpet protectors that
would temporarily be put down to make it easier to roll over the rug?
Because of my specific conditions, unfortunately, this probably won't be the
last time I will need to use a wheelchair.
Thank you for any information you can provide.
