[Blind-Rollers] Screen contact with audio information only.

Greetings everybody, this is Jane from Oklahoma, the Kane travel instructor. A colleague showed me something a couple of weeks ago that may help with haptic issues. She had me take a bump dot, the sort we would put on a keyboard or a dishwasher or a thermostat or whatever, and instead, I licked it and put it on my index finger. She had me put the bump dot upside down on an iPhone and manipulate the iPhone with the bump top between my skin and the screen. She was trying to address problems of a client with tactal issues and I thought this might work for her. Swiping left or right could be determined by speech and the bump dot stuck to my index finger allow me to make contact with the screen without doing more Screen taps than intended and without raising my finger inappropriately and jumping around to unintended areas. Since we did this experimentation, I have not seen the client we were discussing but I wondered if it would help people on the list. The idea is you would have a contact with the screen on the iPhone or whatever your device, and use the speech output to determine if you were managing the controls correctly. After I try this with a real client, I will keep you guys posted about our success. Keep it in mind and if you buy bump dots from LS&S or ILA, get some extra ones just in case.
