We live in New Mexico, and my son (6th grade) takes his laptop back and forth to school and home.

Our school district does not allow any equipment to be taken home.  It is their policy. I don't know if this is the same in other states or even other school districts within our state.  While I understand their reasoning (they have purchased it & are responsible for it) it can be very frustrating when trying to complete homework.
