[blindkid] "individualization" help needed

Hi,
     Keep on with you gut instincts.  I suspect that you have read more than
most of the folks you are working with and are much more in tune with your
daughter's needs.  I suspect you are right on with the spacial
relationships/coordination.  Another thought, my son has Cortical Vision
Impairment, even though his acuity is 20/80, his brain does not process that
information, making him somewhat off balance and not quite coordinated.  Has
there been a full Neurological work up?  You don't want to overlook anything
just because your daughter has several already diagnosed problems.  That
doesn't mean there are not other physical factors.

*    I just finished working with the Braille Reading Pals Program:  Braille
Reading Pals, 1800 Johnson Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230; **
BrailleReadingPals at nfb.org* <BrailleReadingPals at nfb.org>*.  There was an
excellent report that was sent and I can't find it real quick to scan.  They
can send, fax, or email the report to you.  The report gave statistics
regarding literacy rates for Braille readers vs. print readers.
The differences were startling.  Braille was by far the more efficient means
of reading and had a much high literacy rate etc.  Get this article.  It may
give you some leverage for requesting Braille be taught.*

     Next thought, have you learned Braille?
