Thank you Kathy

Mike is 11 years old....That is what we are afraid of.....if it does not work then what happens to the eye.  We are going to see the Dr on the 17th she wants to clean up the calcium build up.  I hope that works for now.

Thank you again.....feel free to call me at any time

Hi Ray-

My daughter is 4.  When she was about 6months old or so, we had decided to put
in a Boston Keatoprosthsies  (K-Pro) up in up state NY by a Dr. Aquavella.
(awesome man, amazing dr) (he has a website)  She had vision for about two weeks
before scar tissue started to form behind the eye and we had to go back up to NY
to get it cut out.  This went on for almost a yr; flying up to NY about once a
month to have scar tissue removed.    It finally got so bad that it pulled off
her retina.  Now she doesn't have any vision.  They think that the scar tissue
grew so fast because she was so young, and her little body was working over time
to try and heal itself.  Even though it didn't work for us, I still think it
might be worth checking into.  I see you have your number under your name, if
you'd like, I could call you and give you our story in greater detail and maybe
try to answer any questions you have.

Kathy

Subject: [blindkid] Question regariding Boston Keratoprosthesis

Hello  all

My son's cornea is getting really bad and three Dr. s have stated that a
regular cornea transplant may not help, and the body may reject it.  We were
told that in the long run it may not be worth the operation.  My son also has
Anaridia and problems with the eye presure but, it is now under control.

Has anybody heard or has gone thru with the Boston Keatoprosthesis . ??

Thanks
