[blindkid] running

I found out by accident that my son age 3 had never run. It happened on one
of our cane walks outside. We do it every day and yes even in rain, snow,
wind. He particularly finds these days fun, as he can experience and learn
about weather. Anyway, his twin wanted to run, but when he gets up a head
of steam, he falls due to CP. So I always hold his hand when I can catch
him first. That speaks to the constant motion thing. Anyway, I had to keep
track of two kids, so I ran with both and the smile on my son's face was
amazing and the guilt I felt at not giving this opportunity earlier was just
as big. Now we use our walking to learn concepts like fast and slow, red
light green light, stop and go, and walking and running. They both love my
treadmill. You'd think we'd all be thin wouldn't you? But we are all in
good cardio shape!
Blessings,
Sue H.
