That was fabulous! I remember watching last year's video! Thanks for the inspiration!

Subject: [blindkid] Brian continues to learn Braille

Hi all!

I just wanted to share a quick video of Brian reading a Braille note that I
wrote to him after completing my Introduction to Braille course through the
Hadley School for the Blind. It's really exciting to see him making such
incredible progress! At this time last year, he didn't even know the
complete alphabet! That was after spending a year working with a TVI who
kept insisting that he really didn't need Braille, that he didn't like
Braille, and that his vision was amazing! (Even though he was tripping over
changes in elevation, etc. All the familiar stuff.) He is now attending our
state academy for the blind, where most of the teachers understand the value
of Braille, and where they take my concerns seriously. Tonight he read his
first complete book from beginning to end (A Kiss for Little Bear).
Unfortunately, my camera battery died! Argh!!

But I recorded this for posterity, anyway.

I hope you enjoy it!

Blessings,

:) Carolynn Barnes
