You’re Invited:
Take Part in Accessible Educational Materials Survey!
Are you a parent of a school-aged child with vision loss? Does your child
require educational materials to be made available in an alternative format for
him or her to succeed in school? Is your child’s school failing to provide such
materials on time or even at all? Would you like to help make a difference in
the lives of school-aged children with vision loss by improving the availability
of accessible educational materials?
AFB invites all interested parents of children with vision loss to take part in
an exciting AFB-National Center on Accessible Instructional Materials (AIM)
colloborative research project that will help make the case for change. Take
part in an online survey designed to explore how well schools are doing to meet
their obligations to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access
to required instructional materials on the first day of class.
Adults 18 years of age and older with school-aged children with vision loss who
are willing to participate in a fifteen-minute online survey should visit:

Survey participation is welcome from October 1 through October 31, 2010. For
additional information or questions, please contact Jennifer Howard, Senior
Policy Research Associate, at (202) 469-6835 or JHoward at afb.net.
Please share this announcement with all individuals and groups that should be
aware of this important opportunity to speak up for students with vision loss.
Thank you for your interest!
