Graphic novels are no different than a computer game that has a description
of the scenes and characters and then the blind person can listen to the
dialogue. What is different is that it graphic novels are a relatively new
format and there are not many people who have produced audio content for
them. It is a chance for a parent or friend to step up and provide the
content. It can be pre-recorded so that the child's experience is similar to
that of a sighted child - i.e. they have to do it themselves. Or it can be
interactive in that the parent or friend sets aside time to do a description
and read the dialogue to the child in person.

If someone pre-records the content, they might be willing to share that
with other families facing the same issues.

I suspect that over the next few years as more schools adopt graphic novels
as reading assignments the content will become available.
