[blindkid] used Perkins Braillers

My son now in high school has had a Perkins at home since pre-k, when it needed
repair his TVI simply switched it out for a working one. He has had a Braille
Note year round since elementary school. When he was younger there was also a
Perkins at childcare year round. Have you spoken to your school or TVI about why
you feel it is important for your daughter to have her equipment over the
summer?

My daughter gets to keep both for the summer, we had years ago to write it in
her IEP, all other kids get to write and read throughout summer, not to fall
behind, we download books from bookshare in her BrailleNote all summer long, and
she does a lot of writing as well.
You should be able to keep them too.

Hi all,

I'm sure this has been asked before, so please forgive yet another query,
but is there anywhere that sells used Perkins Braillers at a reasonable (ok,
semi-reasonable at least) price?  The summer looms and our Perkins loaner
and BrailleNote got returned to school yesterday.

thanks,
Lynda Zwinger
